Burning Man is an annual gathering that takes place in the Black Rock desert of Nevada in the USA, purportedly at a spot furthest from any human settlement in the 50 states. Attendees number close to 50,000 in recent times. No rules, few or no clothes for many, music, dance, drumming, art car and outsider art exhibits, exhibitionism, free wheeling souls trying to keep the fire alive in their eyes and lives. Part of every festival is the stories-high wooden man that is set alight in a giant bonfire festival. Hedonism and self-expression at its finest, if not most quirky on such a large scale.
