  • Tuscan tongues were set atwitter earlier this spring, when the sultry EVOO heiress ditched her well-meaning but impotent husband Seth, aka Sap Green, for a highly public Sapphic fling with notorious chromatic sexpot, Rose Madder. When Rose transferred her affections from her former flame, lugubrious blonde chanteuse, Sienna, to get herself some of that extra virgin olive love, the breakup was not without rancor. Friends say the singer went from raw Sienna to burnt Sienna almost overnight. She currently sits brooding in her Tuscan villa, nursing her grief with daily infusions of burnt umbrage. Revenge fantasies, involving a Unabomber-style campaign against the Olive Garden restaurant chain, have been largely ineffectual, in part due to the legendary inefficiencies of the local postal authorities, as well as an ingenious new chromatic alert system being implemented by Olive Garden's management.

The former Mrs Green was unavailable for comment, but her belief that "revenge is a dish best served cold" is a matter of public record. Critics are divided regarding the significance of the recent addition of a new menu item, pasta puttanesca, to the Olive Garden's popular lunch menu. Mr Green has not commented publicly; a spokesperson for the diminutive despot said that he is busy working on a new restaurant venture, tentatively titled Robot Chicken. Industry insiders speculate that it will involve some combination of jerk chicken and a revival of the Automat-style restaurant popular in postwar Manhattan. Tom Brokaw is rumored to have signed on as official spokesbot for the venture.

Rumors that Green plans to get even with his cheating ex in a tell-all memoir, "The Serpent and the Rainbow", remain unconfirmed.
