At lunch I've been seeing some folks protesting in front of their tents in a downtown park. One of them had this phrase on a big sign, holding it up for people driving by on the street to see. I asked the dapper young man what it meant, and he started telling me about John Maynard Keynes and Adam Smith. Then he said, "You kind of have to be an economist to get it."

Ha ha! The funny thing is, it sort of works with both "ate" and "are" (but I'm no economist).
