• In geology, noting a subdivision of the Upper Cretaceous period represented in France by the gravels of the department of Perche, the glauconitic chalk of Rouen, and the gray chalk of Boulogne, corresponding in Great Britain to the Lower Chalk and Upper Greensand, and in the United States to the Dakota epoch.
