- noun In mining, a flat iron bar suspended by chains in a shaft so that it may be raised or lowered at pleasure, and used to support a man engaged in making repairs or changes in the pit-work. The man sits on the bar, and is supported in part by a strap which goes round his body under the arms.

I'd attempted an N router before, with the d-link 615, which was horrible with constant dropped connections (firmware eventually fixed it), so I was leery of another "N" class router.

In all honesty, based on what I've looked at, the d-link still seems to be the best choice, but it doesn't hurt to look a little deeper.
