  • noun An alloy of aluminium and magnesium combined in. varying proportions. Magnalium containing 25–30 per cent. of magnesium is not affected by air or water and gives good castings; with 7½–10 per cent. of manganese, it takes on a good polish and is suitable for bells. The alloy also possesses great ductility and its melting-point lies between 600° and 700° C.
