What IS true is that much of the warming for the last 10 years has occured away from main populated areas (Antartic mostly).

Just because we had mild temperatures in recent times doesn't mean that in times past the Artic and Antartic had temperate temperatures or in years past, ice miles thick blanketed most of the planet.
