It always strikes me as ironic that the church, which champions the poor and downtrodden and hurls abuse at secular institutions and ideology readily seeks to avail itself of secular protection when its members are charged with child rape or molestation offenses (I will not use the term Clergy abuse - these men are child abusers and rapists).
