He co-founded the Partido Socialista de Aragón (Aragonese Socialist party) in 1976, but after this was swallowed by the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (Spanish Socialist Workers 'party), he joined the Communist party-led coalition Izquierda Unida (United Left) in the late 80s.
