Within the Njombe group the term refers widely to a paddle spoon, but its more limited occurrence outside of Njombe, in identified Ruvu languages plus Pogolo of the Kilombero group, makes this word an additional case of a transfer among their societies, adding further evidence of the Njombe influence on Ruvu and other Kaskazi neighbors in the second millennium.
