I'm not sure I buy it -- it's the same concept Wimmers uses in "Ultraviolet" for the over-the-top scene where Violet is surrounded by thugs and dances out of the way of all of their shots until they've killed each other -- but it makes for some spectacular combat, including the climatic hand-to-hand gun fight between an unblinking Bale and the antagonist at the end of the movie.
