Many media folk use the terms interchangeably, but SVO/WVO requires significant modifications to your vehicle, while true biodiesel requires little change (more on older cars).

What you have to be careful about is the distinction between true biodiesel (processed from the original or waste oils) and veggie oil fuel (SVO – straight veggie oil, and WVO – waste veggie oil, such as from KFC fryers).
