Although a fish called callop in South Australia has been officially named golden perch throughout Australia, it continues to be called callop among South Australian fishermen, even in a television program for fishermen run by the Australian Broadcasting Commission, and in the official South Australian Yearbook it is entered as "golden perch (callop)."
