At Netscape, my job is to essentially fact check and blog over the stories that are voted up to our front page; we get a lot of stories, like that one, which breathlessly "reveal" a public figure's alliance with 9/11 countertheories.

Well, back in the days when I was a Justice Department reporter and used to occasionally write about espionage cases, I found the whole area very murky, in the sense that you always had theories and countertheories about these kinds of cases, and the people who were -- who would talk to reporters, to propound these theories, most of them had some kind of agenda, including U.S. officials.
