  • noun A genus of coniferous trees of China and Japan, of two species, resembling in their stiff, pungent, linear-lanceolate leaves the Araucaria, but more nearly allied to the Sequoia of California. The wood of the Chinese species, C. Sinensis, is used especially for tea-chests and coffins.
