  • noun A colorless compound prepared by fusing durene-sulphonic acid with potassium hydroxid; 1, 2, 4, 5-tetramethyl phenol. It crystallizes in large flat prisms, melts at 117° C., boils at 249–250° C., and is volatile with steam.
