This very much smells like a religous movement, and those kinds of things do not end well for the minority, since the orthodox majority _just_has_to_ exterpate the non-belivers in order to acheive true purity.

It's not that I don't get why backroom strategists are obsessed with "party discipline" and controlling every second of spin that emanates from the minds and mouths of MPs but at what cost do they chuck the baby out with the bathwater when they exterpate all dissent and everything that comes with it including the necessary bullshit detection, creativity and ingenuity so badly lacking in today's politics?
