  • Named for a Revolutionary War–era fort built by the town's 40 original settlers, Forty Fort was originally a stronghold on the Susquehanna River in Westmoreland County, CT, now Pennsylvania. It was a place of refuge for settlers during the Battle of Wyoming in 1778. More here.
