  • noun In petrography, a name given by Brogger to certain fine-grained syenites, sometimes having a traehytic texture, composed chiefly of alkali-feldspar, with little or no ferromagnesian constituents. They are in part highly feldspathic facies of sölvsbergite. Rosenbusch classes them with bostonites.
