  • noun A genus of fossil nautiloid cephalopods of the family Loxoceratidæ (suborder Cyrtochoanites), including orthoceracones and cyrtoceracones having highly nummuloidal central siphuncles with short and crumpled funnels. It ranges from the Lower Silurian to the Carboniferous.
