This decorative knot makes a neat ball on the end of a rope. Sometimes used on the end of a heaving line, but it can be dangerous for the person on the receiving end. It's usually tied around separated fingers. After each set of three complete turns, change direction by passing the rope end through the middle. Then knot the end, tuck it in, and tighten until all turns are neat.
