• noun A superfamily group of pulmonate gastropods, equivalent to the Geophila or Stylommatophora, containing the landsnails and -slugs, which are thus contrasted with the Branchiopneusta or Basommatophora, including the aquatic snails: so called on the ground that the respiratory sac is morphologically a kind of urinary bladder.
