  • noun In geology, noting a division of glacial time and deposits in Europe regarded by James Geikie as the third interglacial epoch, represented by marine and fresh-water deposits between the boulder-clays of the southern Baltic coast. It was preceded by the Polandian or third glacial epoch and followed by the Mecklenburgian or fourth glacial epoch.
