  • noun A genus of Hylidæ, having on the back a kind of pouch or marsupium in which the eggs are received and hatched; the pouch-toads. The species are N. marsupiatum, a native of Peru, N. oviferum, and N. fissipes, the last from Pernambuco in Brazil.
