For some reason this stirs up memories of a forbidden (and thus much-coveted) homoerotic tale of life in a boys' catholic boarding school that was circulated secretly (but widely) in the boys' catholic boarding school where I spent my high school years. Though maybe the title was "Lord Dismiss Us". Lots of dark guilt, furtive fumblings, overheated prose, and sublimation.
It wasn't, however, anywhere near as popular as the allegedly true expose of life in the midlands Jesuit boarding school. The one with the shocking masturbation in the milk scene.
Ah, those were the days.
