Can we just vote-down and ignore the off-topic rantings of a misinformed attention hound?

I can't speak for anyone else here, but I personally am used to forums where threads consistently and frequently go off-topic, and the moderators freely allow this to continue happening.

Ok. Sorry for the rant and being slightly off-topic, it just seems inconceivable to me sometimes – though, as I said, I do get the thing about tuition fees.

MexConnect is the first site I've come across where threads are closed when they get off-topic, so it's something I'm still not used to.
