  • noun A soft, semisolid yellow material resembling vaseline, made from the mineral ozocerite, used in ointments, etc. When bleached by treatment with fuming sulphuric acid, it has been used instead of fat oil in the extraction of the perfume of flowers by the process of onfleurage.
