  • noun In faro and similar games, and in the United States in horse-racing also, the act of applying the money staked and the money won on a bet in continuing to bet or as a further stake; also, the staking of double the sum just staked. In the United States usually called parley. See parley.
  • To stake (one's money, together with that won by it, on another bet); also, double one's stake. See parley.
