I've had their chutneys - the lime pickle is the best commercially available but the mango sucks, in my opinion. Actually these days we're all about grindin' our own spices and I haven't bought a Patak's paste for about three years, but my favourites were the Jalfrezi and the Madras.
Non-Indian stuff, I had no idea they made it. I'll have to check it out. Actually I wouldn't mind trying my own marsala sauce.

I thought the mango chutney sucked too. Glad it wasn't just me. I'll try the lime stuff. I'm not sure I've ever seen it in the U.S. but I'm sure one can order it.
The curry paste is really the only thing I buy nowadays for the same reason you state. We recently got some really good spices. (Here's the company, if anyone's interested.)
