• noun A crystalline, non-toxic, bitter substance, C₂₅H₃₀O₁₂ or C₁₅H₁₈O₇(?), found in moonseed, Menispermum cocculus. It melts at 250–251° C., first turning yellow and beginning to fuse at 245° C.
