  • noun A genus of small teleodesmaceous pelecypods which have elongated shells with terminal beaks, smooth or radially ribbed surface, two cardinal teeth in each valve, and the anterior adductor scar forming a deep pit. The genus ranges from the Devonian to the Trias, and is especially abundant in Permian rocks.
