• noun A genus of oscine passerine birds of the family Corvidæ and subfamily Fregilinæ, with short wings, characteristic of the desert regions of central Asia; the desert-choughs. Four species are described—P. panderi, P. hendersoni, P. biddulphi, and p. humilis.
