  • noun A tall votive flag called da-cha (written ‘dar-lch'og’), inscribed with pious sentences, prayers, charms, etc., set up by pious Buddhists in Tibet and elsewhere for the purpose of obtaining merit and of bringing luck to the whole neighborhood.
