I’d written some brief pieces on the taxonomy of Indian Ocean giant tortoises (more on that here), and naturally I’ve had to do consultancy work on giant fossil taxa, like the Cretaceous protostegids and Stupendemys, a Venezuelan pleurodire that exceeded 3 m in length and must have weighed a couple of tons.
