The things that I wished the bag had was a thicker removeable shoulder pad and maybe one or two external gear loops for those short, single pitch, sport days when all you need is a rope and a handfull of quickdraws (currently I just use the compression straps).

When you do start getting gear you are going to need a rope (I'd suggest skipping the 60 and just getting a 10mmish 70m rope), 10-12 quickdraws, and a PAS / long slings to make yourself safe on the anchors to clean.
