Definitions

from The Century Dictionary.

  • noun A compound of raffinose with a base, as calcium raffinosate, 3CaO.C18H31O16 + 2H2O, a crystalline powder, by means of which raffinose can be separated from saccharose, because it is less soluble in alcohol than calcium saccharate.
