Seeing bad stories recced is something I'm used to, as is seeing stories that just aren't to my taste.

I avoided them, no matter how highly recced: why read about HP if there was no magic, mutants if they had no powers, Batman if he didn't have Gotham?

Obviously I'm being subjective here, but I think the unusual subject of the story (Bender/Brian) as well as its good execution caused it to get recced a lot (I swear it showed up on every other rec list) so I think maybe that is why.

It didn't get recced at all, but neither did the other two Turner stories; it's a pretty small fandom, and I understand that.
