The refugio was a very social place and had a great bar with wonderful view - perfect for meeting other residents and having a few relaxing beers after the day´s exursions.
We made it to the refugio which is maybe a 1/4 of the way up where we were served hot chocolate and pan.

The refugio owner called a taxi to take me to the hospital - St. James I hope you understand but this IS the year 2005 - and before long a Spanish doctor was standing over me muttering words to the effect of "infectsione, molto bloody infectsione!"

As I waved a friendly V-sign at the refugio owner and his army of nocturnal associates, I was starving, we all were, and I was like Biggles, my dog, on the hunt for food first thing in the morning!
