- noun A breed of domesticated pigeons, supposed to have originated in Persia, having long heads, bodies, and legs, wide shoulders, and a long curved bill with a moderate wattle at the base of the upper mandible. The birds may be plain-colored, or varied; in the latter case the wings are white, the saddle, upper neck, and upper breast, colored.
