Definitions
from The Century Dictionary.
- noun A simple form of type-writer for cutting letters and figures in sheets of oiled paper to form stencils for marking packing-boxes. It consists of a revolving horizontal wheel of steel supported at the center, in a suitable frame, and carrying stamps for cutting out the stenciled letters and a lever for pressing each stamp through the paper as it is brought in turn, by the revolution of the wheel, under the lever. It has a graduated table to guide the paper as it passes under the stamp and to hold it firmly in place as each letter is stamped.
