• noun A genus of protrematous brachiopods having valves with reversed convexity, that is, the ventral concave, the dorsal convex, both broadly expanded, with well-developed cardinal area. The genus is now restricted, but has commonly included all forms with normal and with reversed convexity. It has been found only in the Lower Silurian rocks.
