- noun A name given by the natives of the Balearic Islands to certain prehistoric stone towers found in those island. These towers are round or square with slightly sloping sides, but they are in such a ruined condition that the structure of their upper portion is doubtful. The interior was usually a simple chamber, but sometimes more complex. Their use is not known.
