varminter

Ive been looking at getting a long range varminter/practice gun (.300 win mag is a bit much for a beginner to practice with all the time) and it looks like the TIkka Varminter has some competition!. 25-06 sounds good to me, but I have not heard of the 6. 5x284.

Im thinking Tikka varminter in .223 or. 22-250 (.308 also because out here it is REALLY cheap) and just use my scope between the two guns as well as my bipod.

what is acceptable accuracy in a varminting rifle? moa, sub moa, what kinda velocities and energy? shouldn't have to be alot. 2010

You have a fine selection of accurate factory rifles from which to choose, and any .222 Rem, .223,. 22-250, or other .22 centerfire varminter will probably serve you well, especially if you handload and enjoy load development.

A Leupold 7. 5X (no longer in production) purchased in 1969, still serves with complete reliability on my light varminter, a .223.

What type of scope do you guys like using? I personnally have a Leupold 4 x 33. I would not trade it for anything. 2009

I am primarily a varminter, and my experience with Vanguards has been with the .223 and. 22-250.

I have read a lot about weatherby vangaurd sub moa rifles, but not just the vangaurd. can someone give me some pointers on them. 2010
