  • noun In poultry, and hence in other birds, the plumage-marking on the shoulder or bend of the wing; distinctive coloration of the lesser coverts collectively: thus, in the black-breasted red gamecock the wing-bows are crimson. See cuts under Agelæus and sea-eagle.
