  • noun A genus of the imperfect fungi, type of the family Zythiaceæ, characterized by having reddish or orange-colored waxy pycnidia and hyaline unicellular spores. About 20 species have been described. Z. Versoniana occurs on fruit of Punica Granatum in Italy.
