My job requires me to take people's names over the phone, which usually means asking people to spell their names. As I describe over at this earlier list, I've noticed a bizarre phenomenon: everyone I speak with uses exactly the same phrases to differentiate between similar-sounding letters.

Not me, though. I must not have gotten the memo. Here are some of the phrases that I use regularly at my job. (I suspect that my subconscious has dredged them up from some long-forgotten book of ABC's, but I guess I'll never know.)
