I am relieved to announce that the final entry to this list will be published on Easter Sunday 2009, after which the list will be closed permanently.

Wild horses wouldn't get me to make another one of these freaking dioramas, nor all the chocolate bilbies of the austral hemisphere.

But if a certain denizen of said hemisphere would enjoy having the constituent animals of the menagerie mailed to him, he has but to say the word. I'll be in the post office before you can say "There are no bandicoots in the bandicuterie".

Sionnach? How come the bovine one is magical and the others are bizarre?

Also, I mourn the impending closing of this list. How fortunate we all are to have them here in one place for Wordieternity.

c_b: It's the eyes. All of the others have beady little eyes, whereas Elsie's are just liquid magic. Also, she poops gold coins, and wrapped miniature cheeses, for crying out loud. When have you ever seen a penguin do that? Or a pig? Or even - no offense - a bear?

Or are golden tappens the next wave in ursine rectal accoutrements?
