  • adj., Middle-European; of, relating to, or characteristic of central Europe or its people (fr. German; cf. Mittel-European, Mitteleuropa).

  • "Mittel-European" is a peculiar hybrid. The German would be Mittel-Europäer. The normal English translations of the terms are "Central Europe" and "Central European". If you are talking about the German quasi-ideological notion of Mitteleuropa, I'd just leave it in German. Even "Middle Europe" and "Middle European" sound overly quaint to me.

  • mitteleuropäische is the female form of the adjective - the base form is mitteleuropäisch
