In North Africa: a balcony or oriel window enclosed with carved wooden latticework. Also the latticework itself or objects made of it.
The main entry in OED2 is under "mashrabiyya", and in MW3 under "moucharaby"; mouchrabieh is listed as a variant spelling in both.
