  • If some mad anatomist were to stitch together the torso of a giant and the nether parts of a horse, then flay the skin entirely, the result would strongly resemble this foul denizen of the Irish Sea. The nuckalevee's most distinguishing feature is its mephitic breath, which is said to stink worse than the grave and to infect those in its range with the plague. The creature has been known to follow unfortunates far inland, seemingly delighting in its victims' torment, but it is unable to cross fresh running water, allowing some lucky souls to make their escape.
